Are you a small business owner or entrepreneur looking for a commercially minded startup advisor to help launch or scale your business?
I provide hands-on small business consulting for startups and small businesses ranging from sole traders to established startups looking to scale.
I’ve worked with some of the fastest-growing startups in Europe over the past decade and helped them grow from seed right through to series A funding rounds and beyond.
“David is a very skilled and experienced SaaS sales leader with profound knowledge of all aspects of GTM for a tech company. I strongly recommend him as a very powerful sales leader that can create an impact where it matters.”
Michael Heiberg – Founder & CEO at Ocean.io
Some of the companies I have worked with include Trustpilot, Zmags, Siteimprove, eMagCreator, Falcon (Brandwatch), Ocean.io and many others.
And I have also provided small business consulting to many entrepreneurs, helping them avoid costly mistakes and get their businesses up and running.
What is Startup Consulting?
The damaging long-term effects of implementing incorrect or ineffective tools or strategies for your business will far outweigh the short-term investment required in startup consulting.
A consultant will not only save you time but also potentially save you money and stress and help you grow your business and plan for future growth in a structured way.
From unfixable problems with critical software set-ups to businesses going out of business because of poor sales and marketing strategies, I’ve seen it all.
There are various types of startup consulting services, so it’s important to hire a startup advisor with the right experience and skills you need.
Unlike many startup advisors and small business consultants, I provide a very hands-on service where I deliver advice and execution.
When I provide small business consulting for startups, I am typically hired for one or more of the following types of startup consulting roles.
Startup Consultant for Founders & Solopreneurs
I am often hired as a startup consultant by founders and sole traders looking to start their first business and in need of a startup advisor.
For these startup consulting projects, I can help you right the way, from business plans to website design to how to sell your products and services.
Business Process Improvement Consultant
The role of a business process improvement consultant is to evaluate, optimize and improve the structure and organisation of your business.
Executive Management Consultant
I am sometimes hired by founders and CEOs as a management consultant to either help plan, evaluate or troubleshoot commercial management tasks.
I specialize in commercial areas such as sales, marketing and customer success, where I have over 15 years of hands-on experience.
“David is a strong sales-driven leader with fantastic empathy and a great personality who develops people, teams and leaders by investing time in understanding where they are, what their potential is and empowering them to take full advantage of their talent – aligned with the company objectives and a no BS attitude.”
Jesper Lindhardt – President & COO at Ocean.io
Sales Recruitment Consultant
Sales recruitment mistakes are probably one of the most common and expensive challenges I see when working as a startup advisor.
When working as a sales recruitment consultant, I typically help startups figure out the type of salespeople they need and can also help screen candidates.
A training or learning development consultant can help you create or improve your internal training and development processes.
I have experience with employee and customer onboarding projects and extensive experience with sales and product training projects.
Sales Process Consultant
I am often brought in as a sales process consultant to help create, optimise and automate sales, marketing and lead generation processes.
This might typically include working on areas such as the lead flows, deal stages or sales forecasting frameworks you have in place.
“This guy gets the job done! David has been instrumental to eMagCreator’s success in many ways. Not only did he optimize workflows, dashboards and metrics in Salesforce, but also systemized and LEAN’ed the whole sales process.”
Ebbe Nygaard | Sales Director (DACH) | eMagCreator
Small Business Consulting Costs
It’s difficult to estimate the cost of any small business consulting project without having a chat and doing some analysis.
For new clients, I normally always recommend my startup consulting plan, which includes 10 hours of consulting to evaluate working together and see how far we get.
The cost of the startup consulting plan is £1,750, and the hours can be spread over a period of up to 12 months.
